On 10th November, 1845, three catholic sisters laid down the foundation pillars of this great college as Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, or IHMs. Later in 1905, the sisters built a separate St. Mary College. By 1914 the college was entitled to offer both teaching facilities and degrees. In 1925, the college was shifted to a new cite, with the laying of the cornerstone of the present Liberal Arts Building, St. Mary College became MaryGrove College. The College started educating a group of 287 students in 1927. Since then, the college has devoted itself in the process of spreading education. Mission Statement: MaryGrove College, an independent liberal arts college is sponsored by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) and is one of the most devoted colleges.
